Sunny, above freezing at 9500ft. Skin wax was very helpful
Snowpack
South aspects building a stout melt freeze crust, pretty terrible ski quality, snow surface wetting. North aspects still cold, storm slab from last week has faceted away and has minimal structure. Snow surface on North aspects was a mix of facets and 5mm surface hoar. Surface hoar was still intact when we left the field at 330pm so keep an eye on that layer with the inbound storm. Quick pit had ECTX and CTs had medium to hard failures in top 40-50cms with low quality fractures. Facet sluffs in steep terrain but beyond that not much was moving on northerly facing terrain. Stayed off steep south aspects.
