Snowpack
The snowpack is rapidly disappearing and lots of ground is starting to show, even in the alpine. Dust on the snow surface is becoming more and more apparent. Snowpack depth ranges from bare ground to around 60cm. The surface crust is stout and 20-30cm thick in most places. There are some sagging cornices that pose a hazard. Main concern are thin areas near rocks and bare ground in 40+ degree terrain. In these spots we might see small wet avalanches late in the day. There is open water in the creek all the way to the headwaters below upper Lost Man trailhead.
Avalanche
Evidence of previous Loose Wet avalanche activity on most mountain faces. All looked fairly old and previously reported. No signs of recent avalanche activity.
