Weather

Storm moving in, dropped 5" over 20 hour period

Snowpack

Generally probed 120-160cm on N aspects around 11,500ft

Avalanche

3 slides pulled out on the N bowl of Yeckel's west ridge around 11,500ft. These likely failed when the mid week storm came in around 1/12/23. Shooting cracks extended for hundreds of feet on both sides from avalanches but did not slide in the lower angle and better supported terrain throughout the bowl. A pit adjacent to the crown dug on 1/15/23 found CTM3 at the slide depth with no propagation indicating the layer had stabilized. Snow crystals in weak layer could not be identified - see image.
