Snowpack
Touring on the DT Apron (ATL, East) I was unable to hit the ground with my probe in the middle of the run. snow hardness based on probing showed some strong over weak structure in the upper 30cm of the snowpack. The rest was pen hard snow for the rest of the probe length with the last 40cm of the probe being near impenetrable. Assessing the upper 30cm's with hand pits I found medium to hard results with non planar surfaces on what appeared to be (to the naked eye) some decomposing snow. Likely whats left of the windslab situation from last week. South aspects above and near treeline had a thin, skiable, suncrust that formed on them.
