Weather
Warm: temps in the mid-30s, very little wind. Sunny with some clouds rolling in mid-pm
Snowpack
Below treeline (i.e. 10.9k and below), snow was powdery and little spatial variability. Above treeline ranged from punchy wind-crust to firm sastrugi higher up and on more exposed aspects. The S and E facing aspects warmed quickly through the day, especially in wind-sheltered areas and around rocks. Gloppy below 10k feet on S aspects by the end of the day
Avalanche
Witnessed a small wet loose avalanche run from 11.5k on a SE aspects releasing from a rock outcropping below double fall line couloir around 12 PM. We saw a few other wet loose avalanches on a similar aspect in that 11-11.5k range starting around 10:30-11 AM. All small and all releasing from rocky outcroppings where the rock warmed the snow
