Crisp temps and clear skies today, with moderate westerly winds affecting ridgelines in the morning, easing by mid day. Mid day temps did not get warm enough to cause surface wetting or loose-wet problems above 10,000ft. Beautiful day to be in the alpine.
Snowpack
3-5” of new snow fell overnight in the areas travelled, settlling out quickly this morning. Winds were not creating significant blowing snow, though small isolated lenses of windslab could be found near ridgelines as could a minor amount of moving snow. New snow by and large remained where it fell, and while it settled and thickened, it remained dry on North and East aspects near and above tree line. New snow was well bonded and unreactive, even where wind-thickened.

No new slabs seen for miles and miles.
