Likely bed surface was the temp/rain crusts from early march and pulled out the 3-19 and beyond snow. Likely 12-20" crown, but again that is a guess from 2 miles away. Strong south west winds had loaded the northeast aspects and left some healthy cornices in its wake.
Avalanche
Saw several crown lines that likely ran last week on NE aspects above tree line. The largest triggered by cornice collapse. R3 D2.5 looked to be 3/4 mile wide. Other slides were all on similar aspects...at least 4 other crowns visible. North side of pass on junction side 10" crown 200 feet wide, one on snowstorm peak wedge shaped crown up to 3-4 feet deep 100 feet wide, and one on face just north of the pass had to seperate crowns each 200 feet wide. They all had a little fresh on top from the dusting we got a few days back, so I assumed the ran mid last week?
