Weather

Mostly cloudy, light winds and pleasant temps with passing snow showers and the sun bursting through occasionally. cloud cover: broken; wind loading: light; recent snowfall (cm): 4-6"; snow avail for transport: moderate amounts

Snowpack

About 6" of new on top of a stout crust near 12,000'. Avoided one pocket of N facing snow near ridgeline that looked like it may have loaded enough to be concerning, otherwise there was a pretty consistent ~6" of new snow near ridgetop. Small Isolated (~10' wide, ~20 cm deep) pockets of wind affected snow in open areas near ridgeline. New snow poorly bonded to crust on N-NE NTL.

Avalanche

Widespread high speed sluffing on N-NE NTL and some small slabs in isolated wind affected areas near ridgeline. Sluffs we far running (~1000' vertical) and entrained a good deal of volume in very steep terrain; would have been large enough to knock someone off their feet.
