Snowpack

Snowpack depth varies greatly above treeline. North through east aspects are generally 1.5 to 2 meters deep, wind pressed and solid. Strong winds have stripped most other aspects thin enough to make over the snow travel difficult. Temperatures have been warm enough to begin a shallow corn cycle on all but northerly aspects, and near surface facets dominate the top 5-10 cm on those aspects. No obvious signs of instability could be found.
