Weather
Sunny and mild to start. Clouds building through the day, becoming mostly cloudy with very light snowfall by 2 pm. No accumulation.
Snowpack
It has been four days since our last measurable snowfall/loading event. The snowpack continues to settle under mild temperatures. Informal probing indicated a firm mid and upper snowpack on most slopes. Slopes above treeline are more wind efected with 1"-3" surface wind crusts. Two snow pits dug near and above treeline on southeasterly slopes yielded hard results in tests (see near tl pit details in attached pit image and above treeline pit details in Snowpack Ob below).
Avalanche
Extensive shed cycle of recent snowfall yesterday on sunny slopes at all elevations, especially near and below steep rocky terrain. Though cycle was widespread, we did not see any loose slides that triggered slabs.
