Weather
The wind was drifting snow but slab formation was minor and mostly at ridgetop. Mostly sunny skies to start the day with cloud moving in at mountain top level around noon.
Snowpack
Snow surface became moist on all southerly slopes at least to 11k feet. We found a poor snowpack structure on southeasterly slopes near treeline with about 12 to 18 inches of snow sitting on a thin melt-freeze crust with fist-hard facets below. A few quick pits identified this structure but no formal snowpits or stability tests were performed.
