Snowpack

BTL, East Aspect, 10,000' Weak 15 cm soft slab sitting on very weak mid pack and basal facets. HS 70 cm, ski pen: 35-50 cm, boot pen: to the ground Breaking trail was an exercise in misery with the un-supportive structure under the skis. Some whoomphing and collapsing, but propagation was no more than a few meters. This snowpack is ripe for avalanches once it gets a heavy load (possibly tonight).
