Snowfall and strong winds came in waves during the day. Snowfall began overnight and continued through the day, heavy at times. At noon, 6" of new snow had accumulated at the CAIC Snow Study Plot.
Snowpack
Shallow wind slabs were easily triggered on windloaded lee slopes near treeline. Small cornice drops produced small, shallow releases with little propagation. Larger cornice falls produced bigger results, but propagation remained limited. Fresh cornices are becoming large and sensitive. Sizable cornice development seems to be arriving earlier in the season than is typical.

No natural avalanche activity was observed due to limited visibility.
