Weather

Mixed spring weather. Sunshine and Snowflakes! Strong solar when the sun popped.

Snowpack

the new snow was warming during brief periods of sunshine. A crust was observed on all but north facing slopes below treeline. Long running pinwheels and rollerballs were observed on steep slopes mostly near rock outcroppings. A snowpack test on a north facing slope near treeline showed a reactive layer of buried facets under approximately 40cm's of softer snow. Collapsing was also noted near the pit, but isolated.

Avalanche

Loose Dry avalanches or sluffs observed on steep sunny slopes. All small and relativity harmless.
