Avalanche

On the way up to ski the Perlmutter Line. Wind slab broke 50 feet below the summit of the approach couloir at approximately 13,000' on a northeast-facing slope. Skier 1 (me) was setting the bootpack and was able to escape to the side and self-arrest with a whippet pole. Skier 2 was 5-10 feet behind and caught and swept down-slope, deployed their airbag pack, and came to rest on top of debris at the bottom of the couloir. Slide was class 2 - large enough to bury someone.
