Weather

Warm and calm day in the canyon. Sky was overcast.

Snowpack

The snowpack in the La Plata's remains thin. Travel to and from avalanche terrain is difficult. In the past week the area has pick up an estimated 10-15 inches, but it was settling quickly under warm temperatures. The deepest pockets of snow appeared to be near and above treeline on north and east aspects. Westerly aspects were wind stripped and southerly had very thin coverage. Below treeline many slopes only had new snow from the recent storm.

Avalanche

No avalanche activity observed.
