Weather

Temps were above freezing, moderate wind from the west, no precipitation, skies mostly overcast.

Snowpack

South slopes had 5-10cm fresh snow on two distinct melt-freeze crusts in the upper snowpack. North slopes had 5-10cm fresh snow on top of a loose layer of near-surface facets. Intact rounding surface hoar was buried 70cm down on north slopes but was difficult to activate due to a stiff slab of rounding facets just above it. The height of snow varied from 125-180 with deeper snow on shady aspects. Instability tests did not noticeably propagate and wind transport from the west was minimal during my tour.
