There was about 145cm of snow on the ground at 2100m. In the upper snowpack we observed about 45cm of recent low-density storm snow which overlies a couple of melt-freeze crusts. Hard resistant planar shears were observed at the interface between the storm snow and the upper crust. In general we had no significant concerns in our riding area, but I'd be increasingly cautious in exposed upper elevation terrain were the new snow may have been shifted into a more cohesive slab.
