Upper slopes on Mt Field. Getting up here was rugged and getting back down to the road was even worse. The low elevation snowpack is shallow, with tonnes of alder in the open areas. It was a complete tangle of alder to get back down to the road. Treeline HS is 80 cm and at the Yoho Valley Road there is 30 cm HS. Upper elevations are good (in this photo), but there is a cost to get there and back down.
