about 8cm of new snow at 2000m by 4pm today, seeming to be trailing off - snowing less than 1cm/hr when we left. Nice powder, but fairly dense. Semi-supportive crust on NW-aspects, was surprised to feel yesterdays temperature crust on all aspects at least as high as 2000m (very thin on shaded slopes). Rode some steep terrain but only in the trees, no signs of instability observed. Big cornices on the higher treeline ridges we travelled. Light SW winds not moving snow on treeline ridges. Freezing level was at 1700m driving home.
