Avalanche

Weather

Mostly clear skies, light winds out of the west, below freezing temps in the AM quickly rising to above freezing by 11am. By 1300 most aspects were becoming saturated.

Snowpack

Soft wind slab development between 15-25cm thick observed above treeline on NE aspects was unreactive, although a few hand shears produced clean fracture characteristics in isolated areas.

Avalanche

Observed a natural avalanche that must have released in the past 12 hours on a north facing couloir that descents from the summit of Coon Hill. Possibly triggered by a cornice collapse.
