Building clouds, increasing winds, falling temperatures, and very light snowfall developing

Northerly terrain, at and below treeline. First two thirds of the tour, nothing but facets (NBF). There was a thin decaying crust about 4” above ground. We were just able to get some small facet sluffs going to ground in steeper terrain Tried to isolate a column, ~ 2’ deep, failed on isolation. When we got a bit higher-at treeline open terrain- a 4-5” hard dense wind slab at the surface in most areas. NBF below the slab. Lots of localized cracking but terrain was not steep. In a more sheltered steep rollover found the same near ground crust which still carried some structure/integrity. Large facets above and below the crust. Isolated column produced no reaction
