Snowpack

Time: 13:25 Location: 39.5597, -105.8869 Aspect: W Slope angle: 23 degrees facets make up the bottom half of the snowpack. there was a harder sun crust layer in the bottom half as well. I ran an extended column test and got ECTN13 with Q3 break that split vertically under the shovel and fell off around the bottom of the upper facet layer. It didn't come off clean and it was difficult to nail down exactly what number to put for the break. I tapped the other side of the same column and it also broke at 13 in the same mannor with the middle of the column remaining.

Avalanche

Saw some sluffs under some steep rocks on the SE aspect of bear mountain that look like maybe they came down last night. It was a long way away and hard to see exactly what elevation it was, but it was near treeline.
