Snowpack

The snowpack is thin, weak, and reactive. Near treeline in more exposed wind affected areas on the ridge or in open slopes a slab of 1F hardness can be found as noted in my obs yesterday. In more sheltered areas the slab has a hardness of 4F or has faceted to F hardness. Skinning and skiing is a trapdoor experience and ski penetration is at times knee to thigh deep. Cracking and numerous whumpf's were experienced. North and East facing slopes has a HS of 50-100cm. West facing slopes are very thin. Looking at the highlands ridge old crowns could be seen but no new naturals were observed.
