Weather
Warm day with clear skies and calm winds
Snowpack
The snowpack in the dense trees, BTL, SW aspect, on route consisted of weak FC layer frpm to to bottom. In open areas, there was a thin < 2” thick windpacked slab on top of the weak FCs. The upper Vail Narrows start zones avalanched across the majority of the start zones with <= 1’. These avalanches spilled into the lower cliffs and into the ditch next to the road in a few places.
Avalanche
Avalanche seems to run before the end of the Jan 13-14 wind event.
