Avalanche on the east facing side of Green Hill took one skiier approximately 50m down slope. This is 1/2 avalanches in the area that have taken a rider in its path this week (other reported in "Japan Trees" on Tenerife by another party, 5 days prior). Rider made a poor terrain traversing choice by continuing over a steep rock bulge which overhung the main pitch. The release point was above the rider (Blue arrow) and carried the rider to the red arrow. All other members of the group were out of the path, and had not chosen that line. General area is windswept with powder stashes, had a significant hard wind slab 30 cm into the snowpack. It snowed over 25 cm the night after this avalanche occurred. It was generally observed that those steeper slopes were loaded and unsafe to ski.
