Beautiful Sunny day, uptracked through dense timber and eventual ridge top travel. Elevation range from 1450m to 2450m. Many settlements felt throughout that elevation range. Eyeballed our decent route from valley bottom, a treed ridge feature descending from mountain top. There was evidence of large scale natural avalanche activity in the adjacent trough and we were confident that would limit the scale of any lingering potential. Nearing our chosen decent route it became more obvious that many of the alpine start zones had cycled naturally. Although it appeared plausible to ski something extra spicy we stuck to the original planned route of decent. Got home safe, no regrets. Our take away from this area on the day is basically this; if you're skiing on a slope with evidence of recent avalanche activity you're probably ok. If you're skiing or standing on a slope steep enough to avalanche with no evidence of recent activity, you might be doing it wrong! Be observant, what you don't see might be the most important observation of all. Stay safe folks.
