Weather
Light snow, calm wind, and cold temperatures. The sky was overcast, with moments of the sun trying to pop out without success.
Snowpack
The snowpack is quickly building in the Red Mountain Pass area. Storms so far this season continue to build a "right-side-up" snowpack. The new snow from the past few days increased in depth with elevation, around 6" at pass level and 8" at treeline. Though the wind was blowing, very little slab in the new snow observed. No cracking, no collapsing. As a friend put it, "eery quiet for this time of year"
Avalanche
No new avalanche activity was observed.
