Weather
Weather was cloudy, warm (mid 30s) and windy. However, the slide could have occurred before our outing on Sunday April 24th.
Snowpack
The snowpack was sticky and wet below ~12,000 ft around 2 pm (isothermal). Around 12,000 feet, the snow was wind drifted and punchy. Seemed like summer/spring conditions below 12,000 ft and wintery wind affected snow above 12,000 ft.
Avalanche
North facing aspect on a cross loaded slope in a east-west oriented glacial valley to the south of Mt Bross. We did not observe the avalanche but saw the tracks and the debris path. The day before we saw a skier triggered avalanche on Cristo Coulior, a south facing coulior off of Mount Quandry (avalanche at around 13,000 ft). Image attached is the Buckskin Mountain slide.
