Weather
Mostly cloudy skies, cold temperatures, and moderate southwest winds with gusts 35-45 mph. Periods of light snow during the day, but little additional accumulation. 6" of new snow with 0.5" of water content this morning. Storm total, 15.5" with 1.4" of water content.
Snowpack
Aside from harmless surface sluffing in the new snow, no signs of instability were observed. Steady 20-30 mph southwest winds contributed to moderate wind loading. Windward slopes near treeline were mostly scoured of the new snow.
Avalanche
Visibility was much improved today. No recent natural avalanche activity was observed in known avalanche terrain along the highway corridor. Clouds obscured visibility into the Alpine.
