Avalanche

This avalanche ran sometime in the last few days maybe around March 4. It ran to the lower track which is not very common for this path. Like other recent avalanches in the Sawatch, it ran far and did not break at the ground. The start zone is large and wide but only around 35 degrees, mostly less. It has not run yet this year before this avalanche. The Gordon Gulch slide path runs into a residential area (no longer occupied) just west of Twin Lakes. This path produced an avalanche in 1962 that killed seven residents.
