Weather: Sunny and warm, clear skies. Location: Unnamed Creek Drainage south of Hoop Creek / Pumphouse BM 10,946 ft. Aspect: E/NE Elevation: 10,946 ft to 11,680 ft.
Snowpack
Snowpack: At 10:30 am there was a thin icy crust on top of the recent storm layer. By 12:30 pm the sun and warm temperatures had melted the crusty surface observed earlier and the snow had a heavy, wet consistency. Location: Unnamed Creek Drainage south of Hoop Creek / Pumphouse BM 10,946 ft. Aspect: E/NE Elevation: 10,946 ft to 11,680 ft.
Avalanche
Clear signs of instability: From 12:30 pm on, point releases and roller balls were observed on slopes facing E/SE with a slope angle of approximately 35 degrees. Isolated point releases were observed along the exposed rock outcroppings and cornices on the E aspect due west of the observer's location.
