Conditions report

Location
Eisenhower Tower

I guided an ascent of Eisenhower Tower yesterday and found the route to be completely snow free and dry for most of the day. We climbed the left variation. The snow patch in the gully is getting pretty small and is easily avoidable on the way down. Despite some short period of rain and moderate gusts of winds, we did not witness any natural rockfalls.
That being said, there seems to be more loose rocks on the upper pitches of the route than usual for this time of the year. That is quite noticeable when pulling the ropes after rappelling. We had to inspect our rope a few times as some pretty decent size rocks were falling. We made only 30 meter rappels.
We had the mountain to ourselves and considering the relatively marginal weather of the last few days, it was great to enjoy the sun on a greater objective.
