Avalanche

The SW Couloir of Mt. Columbia (Sawatch) has slid. I would guess a few weeks ago, maybe during the heavy avalanche cycle of early/mid March. I could not find any record or report on the website, so I wanted to pass this along just in case. Skinned up today, 31 March, and discovered the massive runout zone. D4 size, pine trees 2-3' in diameter were crushed. Crown was at the top of the couloir at 13,600. Difficult to tell exact depth because the crown had wind-deposited snow on and around it.
