Weather
Sunny, warm, and windy. Snow continued to drift even below treeline. Drifting more pronounced at ridgelines but may have been too windy in the alpine for effective loading.
Snowpack
Snowpack in this area is thin. Notably, no dust from last storm event here. Below treeline in the woods it is weak throughout and trapdoor conditions still exists. In open areas and at higher elevations there is now a stiff slab under the very weak snow near the ground. Unlikely an avalanche in this area would not go to ground, except perhaps in the alpine. Open areas are wind effected with a thin windboard. Did not get into the alpine, but conditions appear wind hammered. The start zones on Ashcroft Mtn. above Express Creek are scoured to ground.
