Weather

Snow in the AM clearing by 11am to give broken skies and some solar input. Winds were West Moderate Gust Strong. Lots of snow transport.

Snowpack

15-25cm of new snow on a firm crust below.

Avalanche

Natural avalanche evidence on an E aspect around 10600 ft below a steep rock band to the lookers left of the Dead Elk Couloir, 200ft wide but just 15cm deep (estimate). Multiple intentional Skier triggered soft wind slabs on steep 35-40* rolls these were all D1 and ranged from 10-20cm deep crowns and 10m wide. Running on the new snow interface.
