Snowpack
6-8 inches of wind deposited snow on old weak layer.
Avalanche
Avalanche caught and carried a single skier 20 meters down the northern aspect and into a stand of trees, partially buried. Companions were able to move the skier out of the debris to a safe area on the Prospect Gulch Road. Final extrication of skier from area was completed by Silverton Medical Rescue (SMR). Slope angle <30° SMR observed avalanches in ALL northerly drainages in Prospect Gulch
