A great day! Found a sheltered area next to the trees in an open very popular hill climb. Found exactly what we expected. Large surface hoar 3-8mm below the recent storm snow. This layer failed in Compression Test (CTM17) down 35cm sudden collapse on a 22degree slope North aspect. We rode the slope in the background with concern for wind slabs below the convexity but after sled cutting the start zone we had no results with multiple attempts.
