Weather

Windy, gusty all day with lots of wind transported snow observed from the parking lot, on to the E. headwall zone. All aspects observed from the east facing slopes and flat meadows below the rd. 11,539-11,800ft. Cold conditions (no temps taken), and no new snow observed Sky was Sct-Ovc

Snowpack

Wind drifted snow seen on lee (S-SE aspects) in any exposed terrain near and above treeline. Drifts were up to 2 ft deep in small pockets, and much of the northerly slopes looked a little scoured/had lots of wind texturing and crust. soft snow in the trees up to 30 cm. Pit: E facing on 27-34 deg micro slope near drifts. 11,600ft. HS - 160cm 160-125cm - F harness on a thin crust 125-80cm - 1F w/ 2 1-2cm MFcr in the middle of an otherwise consolidated slab 80cm to ground - F hardness with 3 distinct MFcr roughly 15cm in between each other DH observed 0-30cm from the ground CTN, ECTX EXCTP outside of test perimeters 110cm on facets
