We triggered a small avalanche on a SE slow slope in the Little Yoho Valley area. We had previously skied this slope and went up for another run. We tried to stay to relatively low angled, protected slopes. We skied one at a time. My partner skied the slope first and I followed once he was through the 30 deg section and waiting in a protected area below. I then started to ski the slope and triggered the slide. I immediately skied out into the treed area (lookers right), alerting my friend below. The avalanche triggered at the small convexity between the low angled slope above and the somewhat steeper (~30 deg) slope that slid. The slope appeared to fail on the deep persistent weakness pretty much at the bottom of the pack.
