Temperate day on Forum Ridge today. Skied two laps through the burned trees down to Cameron Lake. 3 degrees when we left the car at 0900, -2 when we returned at 1530. Dug a pit near the ridge crest around 2200m. Found 180cm of snow at our pit site (not representative of general coverage). Down approx 60cm is a rock solid crust, about 5cm thick. We got a small settlement on H4 but no catastrophic failure at this interface on our isolated column test on our low angle put site. A few shooting cracks when touring up the N end of the ridge in steeper trees. No such cracks observed on our two laps down to Cameron. Less than 30cm coverage near the lake made for sporty skiing—watch for sharks.
