Got a late start to the day and given the avy conditions, we decided to ski some low angle slopes below on a NW aspect. We topped out at 1800 m to avoid the steeper section of the Narao glades. Snow was heavy, sticky, and wet on the surface. Lots of tree bombs falling throughout the day. No evidence of any avalanches in the area. Skinned up two small test slopes (25-30 deg) along the lake O’Hara access road but no instabilities noted. Hand shears on those same slopes indicated slab like properties in the snow about 15-20 cm down. Got some cracking in the snow while breaking trail (~1700-1750 m) on the way up the glades but no whumpfing or drum-like sounds. Ski pen was around 30 cm Skiied 20 degree gladed/heavily forested slopes, following our skin track back to the access road. Despite there being a ton of fresh snow, the warm weather has made the snow wet and heavy which affected ski quality
