Toured the Northern-most ridge (closest to resort) in Mongolia. Colder day than expected, the clouds stuck around into early afternoon, then mostly sunny with scattered clouds. Light wind. Rode soft, deep powder on the North aspect. Rode 'creme brulee' snow on the South - very thin sun? crust with soft snow underneath. No signs of instability. Rode in the trees, stayed away from open sunny slopes. Observed very few low-key pinwheels on the SW aspect climbing up. Saw two to three size 1-2 loose snow avalanches, perhaps a few days old, on an open/sparsely treed, South facing slope exiting the bowl. Avoided that. Lots of tracks on both sides of the bowl.
