Burned knob

Toured up Burned Knob on Mt MacPherson today. We observed widespread surface hoar, which was beginning to get buried as we finished our day. The upper 50 cm was heavily faceted, which made of great skiing on low angle slopes. On anything steep surface snow was sluffing down to various old, hard surfaces (crusts, tracks or tree bombs).
