Poked through the clouds today to do some recon on Kitchener and McCreight. Snow begins at 700m on Big Tree. We followed the skin track along the flagged summer ridge route and wrestled a few trees. We got rained on briefly near the summit of McCreight. Conditions were variable. South aspects were icy. Lots of wind transport, with some sheltered pockets of softer snow on the NE aspect. Skied down the skin track and had a blast weaving through the trees. As noted in the other MIN report earlier this week, we saw evidence of a point release in the SW gully of Kitchener. More snow is needed to fill in the chutes and cut blocks below.
