Observation Peak

Skied SW aspect to 2300m (treeline). Avoided Alpine due to pronounced wind effect. Good skiing in sheltered areas treeline and below. Surface hoar observed from bow parking to 2200m. Easy clean hand shear down to 30cm. At this elevation there was no overlying slab. First extended column test at 2300m produced hard shear down 40cm on Jan17 suncrust and facets. No propagation noted. Second ECT at same elevation produced no results. Depth hoar still present but not producing or whumphing. Morning temps -23, afternoon temps -15. Light wind and sunny blue skies today.
