Went for a walk up grizzly shoulder to ski down Rogers run. A pair of ski crampons would have been helpful for the ascent, as half of the uptrack had been scoured by previous avalanches, leading to significant wind effect and exposure of the rain crust. The top of Rogers Run contained light powder, but once we hit 1900m elevation there was 20cm of heavy snow on an impenetrable icy crust. At times the wind had carried the snow away, so it was just skiing on the crust. What a sporty day! Would recommend going high up in the alpine for better travel and ski conditions... Or perhaps mountain biking on my next day off.
