Bluebird Colorado day. A light breeze, under amble sunshine.
Snowpack
General warming was observed on slopes affected by the sun. The snow surface on exposed slopes near and below treeline was becoming wet on E-S-W slopes, but Wet avalanche activity was isolated to rock features on southerly facing slopes high in the alpine in the afternoon. The new snow continues to settle, but sluffing was observed on steep slopes. Crust/Facet combinations were observed in an East facing pit near-treeline. This problematic combination is what to watch out for.
Avalanche
Natural activity was observed from the 2/27-2/28 storm. Some Wet avalanches were observed on rocky south-facing slopes, but isolated to steep terrain and most were relativity harmless.
