Snowpack

Snowpack: Storm totals at 22” (1.45” SWE). 17” overnight and an additional 3” today. Storm board at 17". Fell on thin crusts on southerly aspects, DF’s elsewhere. Generally low density (6%) and incohesive this morning, but started to settle/drift into soft storm slabs by the afternoon, becoming subtly upside-down. Large drifts in the usual spots, but some unique loading patterns in some locations. Avalanche Activity: Numerous cracks and a few small skier triggered soft slab pockets (6-8” deep) and sluffs (D1’s) failing within the storm snow or at the storm interface on various aspects and all elevations. These seemed specific to areas getting wind affect.
