Weather

Skies built from clear to overcast, with very light snow developing late afternoon. Winds increased from light to moderate from the SW, with gusts peaking in the 40’s. High temp of 20 at 12k.

Snowpack

Mostly scoured with wind affected surfaces: windpacked grains and sastrugi. Isolated stubborn windslabs on crossloaded terrain from recent NW winds, reactive to airblasts where they built over shallow, faceted snow.

Avalanche

Airblasts targeting crossloaded hardslabs released 2 notable slides, 12”-45” deep, failing on facets near the ground. HS-AB-R2-D2-O/G
